prepare yourself for several photos.

pre-party. pre-100 degrees heat and sweat drenched hair. pre-no nap ALL DAY LONG. post mommy working on her birthday outfit ALL NIGHT LONG :)

on to the party decor

you may remember the party favors from the old blog. you can find a detailed description there.

the tables

each of the three tables had a dress up item for the guests.

there were clown noses.

pirate patches.

and necklaces with coordinating clip-on bling

for whatever reason, i didn’t want cake at this party. and by whatever reason i mean pick one of the thousands: the mess, the melting cake in the summer sun, the cost of a cute cake, the silverware requirements, the list goes on folks.

so as a cake replacement i chose cookies, but of course i wanted them to be cute, match the theme and cost effective so i commissioned my talented-in-many-areas sister to handle the job.

and let me just say: best idea i ever had! people could eat the cookies as the pleased, because they didn’t have to wait for someone to cut the cake. they didn’t melt like the cupcakes on a stick i commissioned the sister to make last year. and best of all they tasted de-lish!

now let’s talk about that hot hot heat i discussed.

dude, it.was.so.stinkin.hot!

and then it would sprinkle and cool down

and then it would stop and the kids would come out of the tent and dress up and shake their tushies

and then it would get EVEN hotter!

and then it would repeat.

and i was starting to think this girl was the luckiest one around

and i think rori was starting to agree

so we retired to the cool playroom with it’s delightful air conditioning and rori and her cousins ended the party with a BANG!

we can’t believe she is two.

next week i shall post some pics of her 2 year session.
